On this final day in October, the Church keeps the memory of Holy Hieromartyr John Kochurov, who suffered for Christ on the first day of the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917. St. John is also considered an American saint because he served faithfully as a mission priest in Chicago for over a decade around the turn of the century, leaving a lasting mark on Orthodox life in the Midwest. At our mother parish in Nicholasville, we will sing his Akathist at 11am. Confessions follow. The text of the Akathist -- which you can also pray at home -- is here: docs.google.com/document/d/1D6JB5eVYn3sspo8qoKuTlRlWmsfhubnSJ95Lb_iOy0U/edit?usp=drivesdkOn this final day in October, the Church keeps the memory of Holy Hieromartyr John Kochurov, who suffered for Christ on the first day of the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917.
